Answers.com says;
-
- The chemical processes occurring within a living cell or organism that are necessary for the maintenance of life. In metabolism some substances are broken down to yield energy for vital processes while other substances, necessary for life, are synthesized.
- The processing of a specific substance within the living body: water metabolism; iodine metabolism.
Well it does not matter, it works, I did not anticipate to go down another pound but it happened, I’m so glad it did. Its true that if you workout your body will need more fuel the next 24 to 48 hours so it burns more. All I can say is SWEET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Down to 191 pounds.

I came across an article on internet what exactly describes how weight lost works, I could not explain this any better;
The key to weight control is keeping energy intake (food) and energy output (physical activity) in balance. To lose weight, you must burn more calories than you eat.
Exercise is the best way to do this. When you exercise regularly, you build stronger muscles, even if you do not work out with weights. Muscles use more calories than fat throughout the day, even while you are resting. This helps boost your metabolism.
How much exercise you need to make a difference in your weight depends on how much you eat and what activity you are doing. A medium-sized adult would have to walk more than 30 miles to burn up 3,500 calories, the equivalent of one pound of fat. Although that may seem like a lot, you don’t have to walk the 30 miles all at once. Walking a mile a day for 30 days will achieve the same result, as long as you you don’t eat more than usual.
If you eat 100 calories a day more than your body needs, you will gain approximately 10 pounds in year. You could lose the weight or keep it off by doing 30 minutes of moderate exercise daily. The combination of exercise and diet is the best way to control your weight.
If you are doing a regular program of strength training (weight lifting), your muscles will get bigger. It is possible that your overall weight will increase, because muscle weighs more than fat.

Still going to the gym a lot. The reimbursement works like a charm. We have to go at least 12 times a month to get $20 back so last payment was $40 less as we reached our 12 times last two months. Great incentive to go beside the fact that it helps you get fit and in shape again of course.
Now I’m starting to do more weight training. It also helps losing weight and get a better body. I’m liking it. Eating with Christmas was not a big problem, I think to many carbs but I was moderate on the intake. Maybe no weight loss this week and I hope not gain either.

Doing some weights now and found out the saying about a burning feeling. Well its ok as long as it works. And guess what, it works, lost more then a pound this week. Not exactly 2 pounds so the counter will stay on 1.
Getting into a little schedule now and try to do a different workout every other day. Still working on it and I like it.

At the Y there are two personal trainers, they look like nice guys but I don’t know, they do not even say hi, not one word. They also act as if you are not there at all. They are working with people out there and talking to others on a regular basis. I guess you have to start paying them and they actually start talking to you. Hm something is wrong with that.

Still doing ok, started with some weight training and now doing 12 minutes Treadmill and 12 minutes eliptical. I can see I burn at least 300 calories.

Lost 1 pound last week. I like the steady way of how this is going.
Met a guy at the gym, Mike, who will teach me how to lift heavy weights. Nice offer I will take with eager. But for now I decided to stay a little bit more focused on weight lost.
My hip on the right side hurts, maybe to much running on the treadmill, oh well nobody died from that so will do some more eliptical machine this weeek.

63 men lost 100 pounds in 10 months by eating this smoothie instead of a meal.
1 cup skim milk
2 tablespoons of ground flax seed
1/2 cup of frozen blueberry
1 tablespoon of peanut butter
1 scoop of protein powder (32mg)

Iwill try it for a couple of weeks and will see how effective this is.

The Total-Body Builder
a.k.a. Rowing Machine
Burn Rate: 11 calories per minute
The Benefit: “Rowing machines provide the best total-body workout of any cardio machine,” says U.S. Olympic rowing coach Mike Teti. This is because they require equal effort from both your lower and your upper body, which could lead to greater gains in overall cardiovascular fitness.

Do It Right: On the back stroke, your knees should be almost completely straight before you squeeze your shoulder blades together and pull the handle to your sternum. Your back should stay in its naturally arched position during the entire movement. Got it? Now sign up with the Million Meter Club at www.conceptII.com. Record your distance online after every rowing session and see how you rank against more than 3,700 other club members. (Stay motivated by finishing your second million in less time.)
The 20-Minute Fat-Burner: Try Teti’s routine. It’s designed to max out your muscles during each interval, while the recovery periods help increase the efficiency of this fat burning exercise routine. Set the rowing machine at a resistance of four. Then perform sets of 10, 15, and 20 power strokes — pulling the handle to your torso as fast and as hard as you can. Separate the power strokes with 60 seconds of easy rowing at about 50 percent of your full effort. Repeat the cycle until you’ve rowed for 20 minutes.
