No news here. Struggling with eating healthy as Maxima (my wife) is buying or making good stuff like scones and cookies. I’m able to not take anything at work but after work when the cravings starts it is more difficult to resist. Hope to loose a pound this week.

Running like crazy and that feels good. Also do some eleptical workout. Left shoulder is sour maybe to much lifting on that side? O well still feel the urge to workout every night. Bought another book about weight lifiting with exercises and in my mind very important they point out what people are doing wrong. Very good reminders and valuable. More about that book later.

Still no plan made up to train all muscle groups.

Reading on-line;

Generally speaking, the weight-loss equation comes down to calories in versus calories out. It takes a deficit of 3,500 calories to lose a pound of fat. So to lose just 1 pound a week, for instance, you need to create an average 500-calorie deficit each day. You can achieve those deficits through various combinations of diet and exercise.

Survived it not to bad, a nice turkey, mashed potatoes and all the other stuff you not suppose to eat to much. Net result measured last Saturday was no weight gained and no weight lost. I feel I did really good on this one. Now full power to this weeks weight lost.

I was in the Marines from 1966 to 1975 oh man I was fit I can assure you. After I joined the police force I was keeping my weight way down and was in the gym 3 times a week. Then 45 years hit and it all went down the drain. Why? I have to think about that an might get an answer. As for now I only can say it just happened. Now I’m 57 and a computer engineer sitting at a desk all day but I feel the urge to get back in shape to live longer and stay healthy. When I look around at my peers way younger then me I’m the “skinny” one. A real heavy guy here has diabetes and weight around 300 pounds or more, another one has a flopping belly and is only 30. Oh no I do not want to be in their skin and have to stay away from getting near that. So I feel lucky to get on track and being determined to reach my goal.

This is a picture of the Royal Dutch Marines The 3rd from the left (in black uniform) is me.(I served for 8 years).

According to this chart; usmilitary.about.com/od/marines/l/blweightmale.htm My weight had to be between 132 and 192 pounds, I’m getting there and getting fitter every day. There is more interesting stuff, a Marines fitness test is here; usmilitary.about.com/od/marines/l/blfitmale.htm It is simple, Pull Ups, 2 minute crunches and a 3 mile run. Have to practice pull ups I guess. Crunches and 3 mile is not that big of a challenge. For my age (46+) I have to do a minimum of 3 pull ups, 40 crunches in 2 minutes and 3 miles in 33 minutes. The chart exactly tells you how to do these exercises.

Steady as it goes. Weight lost is not as fast as I hoped for but still in the rights direction. Another 1/2 pound lost. Skipped cookies chips and goodies at 2 seminars but half a pound is not enough. Oh well as long I’m loosing weight it is OK.

To get my monthly reimbursement of $20 I need to go 12 times to the Y, last month was 19 times, good score. :)
